About the Role
This is a mid-level Manual QA Engineer role supporting a US client with teams based in Boston, Massachusetts, while working remotely. In this position, you’ll help ensure quality across a broad set of customer-facing and backend experiences by turning requirements and design documents into thoughtful test plans, executing thorough manual testing, and partnering closely with Agile teams to keep releases reliable.
The role is well suited to someone who enjoys translating product and technical changes into clear test coverage, investigating issues across workflows and systems, and contributing ideas that improve both the testing process and overall product quality.
What you’ll do:
- Work with Agile teams to convert the requirements and design documents into a test plan containing an overview, collection of test cases, and test scripts.
- Design, develop and execute functional test cases that ensure the software meets the intended requirements and quality standards.
- Verify front-end and back-end changes, user workflows, database, API, security, performance, mobile device, browsers, etc...
- Develop test data, perform test data analysis and prepare reports of test results, along with detailed and easy-to-understand bug reporting.
- Transforming requirements in test plans covering smoke, sanity, regression, databases, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Research and identify methodologies and tools to improve the software testing process.
- Participate in improving test processes, and propose new ideas for improving customer satisfaction and the product's quality.
- Review other team members' test cases and scripts to ensure proper test coverage.
- Work with Agile teams to ensure the necessary data is built and available and that test environments are functional.
Your background and skills will include:
- Degree educated or equivalent in Computer Science or related field with Quality Assurance certifications such as ISEB or ISTQB desirable.
- Experience with various software testing methodologies, such as unit, integration, functional, manual, load, and regression.
- Ability to triage issues and handle tasks on multiple projects.
- The creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Good understanding of software development life cycle, methodologies, and best practices.
- Hands-on expertise in various QA tools, libraries, and frameworks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that supports production and maintenance level changes.
- Good attitude toward collaboration, helpfulness, problem-solving, and a sense of urgency.

- Familiar with e-commerce specifically cart, purchase, and post-purchase flows
- Comfortable working on a wide array of applications, systems, services, and workflows without being overwhelmed
- Experience in automation testing
